Project We Say Tomato: Help is Here!
Today I created a quick Flash-based video presentation accompanied by text instructions that show how to configure your microphone while demonstrating how easy it is to add your voice to this project.
And, in response to a visitor's suggestion, today I also added a recording level meter that shows the input volume during your recording. The perfect level is towards the upper end of the green area. But, be sure to stay below the red at all times. The red area indicates that clipping is taking place--and there will be some noisy distortion in the recording.
Thanks for the excellent suggestion. I agree that this addition greatly enhances the usability of the application. I only wish I'd thought of it first!

I don't like the way you have disabled the BACK button on my browser on theses pages: http://www.duber.com/oncall/
Everytime I visit your page, then try to hit the back button to get back to where I was, my browser just stays on your page.
Seems to be a bit rude to force visitors to stay on your page.

Dear Anonymous Reader:
What you are experiencing is, no doubt, the result of the use of a frameset (combined with a meta-refresh tag) in this area of my site. There are several ways that you can solve your difficulty. The easiest ones are to either: (1) press the "Back" button two times quickly; or (2) use your browser's "Go" menu to navigate back from where you came.
Sorry for the small inconvenience.

I've just been looking with interest at your "We Say Tomato" project. I noticed an anomaly in the 'Non-native speakers' and 'Batch #3' sections - viz. the reading in English, marked 'Javanese (Eng.)', is performed by a Javanese Indonesian. The translation marked 'Indonesian (Jav.)' is in the Javanese language read by a Javanese Indonesian. The translation marked 'Javanese' is in the Indonesian (Malay) language, again read by a Javanese Indonesian.
