12/22/2002 Archived Entry: "New Google Goodies, One Word & Season's Greetings"

December has been especially busy for me workwise, and for that reason I haven't posted here as often as I had hoped this month. With this, my final post for 2002, I am happy to report on some news from the amazing search-engine folks at Google. They have recently released a few new fun and interesting search applications:

One other great site I've come across recently is One Word. It's an online writing exercise where visitors are invited to write a 60-second essay about the "word of the day". The authors note that "the real purpose of this exercise is to alleviate our natural tendency to edit everything." This is a simple, but very effective demonstration of CALL in action!

Finally, I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
